| Practice Description: |
As a Clinical Psychologist, my goal is to alleviate suffering and help you resolve hidden conflicts which stop you from enjoying life to its fullest. I help you understand how events from the past affect your choices today. The process of change involves understanding yourself better and practicing new behavior which leads to a more fulfilling and satisfying life. I work with all age groups and have found that a strong background in working with children has made me better able to treat adults, as I understand the impact of critical incidents during various developmental stages of the life cycle.
I have worked in the area of Psychology for over 20 years, and currently treat adults, children, teenagers, and couples. My approach is non-judgmental, staying away from blame which causes frustration and self-doubt. Instead, we confront the issues safely, through understanding feelings and the true meaning of your behavior.
I treat a range of disorders from mild to severe. For example, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, PTSD, Personality Disorders, OCD, Fear of Commitment in Relationships, Life Changes, Shyness, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). One special interest of mine is Low Self-esteem in Romantic Relationships. My orientation is Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic, adding Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness when helpful. www.drnicole.vpweb.com.
