Besides maintaining a private practice for fifteen years, my experiences include serving as director of a university-based program for counseling low-income families referred by local school systems; counseling women and children from abused family situations in a residential setting and serving on the board of directors for a local family shelter; counseling individuals as patients in a metropolitan hospital psychiatric ward, as well as their families in out-patient settings; and teaching writing in a local college as a way of developing and fostering communication skills.
