| Practice Description: |
A licensed psychologist with over 35 years of experience, I offer a full range of psychotherapy services to address your individual needs, Whether you pursue individual, couples, family or group therapy with me, you will find that I bring empathy, passion and a bevy of skills to my clinical work. I maintain a generalized practice treating the gamut of psychological and stress disorders, but I have a special interest and expertise in couples and family therapy, women's issues and eating disorders. Along with my extensive years of service, I have held a number of faculty positions, directed adolescent and family training programs, produced family therapy training tapes, hosted a radio show, and published in professional journals and local papers. I view therapy as an exciting opportunity for mutual collaboration, nurturing the process of self-exploration, healing, growth and relationship enhancement. I incorporate the tools of psychodynamic and systems theory, as well as cognitive and behavioral techniques, to meet your goals. Above all, I believe that a safe and supportive therapist-patient relationship is key to the therapeutic process. Therefore, I provide a comfortable and nurturing environment for you as we explore your emotions and experiences together. Understanding one's history is critical to this process because symptoms often reflect past adaptive choices and behavior.
