| Practice Description: |
I strongly believe in lifelong personal growth and the possibility of change. In my practice, I help individuals gain insight, movement, and personal empowerment through a supportive, warm, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My overall style is genuine, dynamic, insightful, and encouraging. I create a safe and nurturing environment for each person that I work with by offering support, education, insight, and personal connection.
Throughout the course of therapy, we will explore issues of most pressing concern as well as relevant past experiences. Often times, past events and relationships can have a continuing effect on current life in ways such as unhealthy relationship patterns, self-destructive behaviors, distressing feelings, and/or an overall sense of "feeling stuck". In my work, I emphasize helping individuals gain insight into these connections and begin a rewarding process of personal growth.
I have a background of diverse clinical experience and currently work with a wide variety of concerns. My focus areas include helping individuals work through depression, past and/or present traumatic experiences or events, major life changes, ongoing stress and anxiety, relationship issues, loss and grieving, as well as self-esteem and identity shifts. I also have a wealth of experience working in-depth both with individuals recovering from addiction (i.e. substance dependence and eating disorders) as well as loved ones that have been affected by these concerns (i.e. spouses, adult children of alcoholics/addicts, family members, partners, etc.).
My private practice has two offices located in Skokie, IL, adjacent to the Old Orchard Mall, as well as in downtown Chicago, IL, next to Millennium Park. I provide intensive individual and group psychotherapy to adults and adolescents as well as consultation and support services for professionals in the health care field.
