Michele Horn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides counseling to individuals, couples, and families. She works with all ages and diverse groups. Her mission is to help clients find their path to happiness and find fulfillment in life. Michele’s belief is that most people have the resources to solve their problems. At times, however, a trauma or broken relationship or even the normal pressures of life can cause us to lose sight of our strengths; obscuring our natural ability to problem solve. Michele provides a safe place where clients can regain their perspective, find acceptance, and challenge themselves to grow. True growth often requires significant effort and courage. It is Michele’s belief that happiness is worth the price. Michele offers day, evening, and Saturday appointments to accommodate your busy schedule.
The theoretical philosophies Michele uses to guide her work are the solution-focused, systemic, and narrative approaches. When working with couple’s she often use Emotion-Focused Therapy techniques. EFT is the most empirically validated form of couple’s therapy. By blending traditional, practical, and creative approaches, Michele draws on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. It is Michele’s belief that therapy should be a collaborative process between client and therapist. She values working with clients' strengths as a way to help clients reach goals and make positive changes. Michele’s mission as a therapist is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel free to express themselves. She values the uniqueness of the individual while fostering the health of the couple and family. She honors the whole of each of her clients as human beings by integrating the mind, body, and spirit. My standard session is 45 -min. I am able to do lengthier sessions if you make a request ahead of time.
Payment is due at the time of services.
I offer day and evening appointments on the weekdays. I also have appointments available on Saturday to accommodate your busy schedule.
Cancellation Policy: If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked.
Cash and personal checks are accepted. Please make your check payable to Michele Horn., PLLC. Upon request at the end of each month she will provide clients with a receipt documenting the charges, payments, and diagnosis when necessary for insurance reimbursement.

What if I cannot pay the full fee?
If the fee is not affordable for you at the moment, I have a limited number of openings for sliding-scale clients -- please call or email to inquire about availability and your sliding-scale fee. The sliding-scale fee is based on household income and ability to pay. I will establish your fee before the first session begins.
Does Michele accept insurance?
I currently do not personally submit out-of-network insurance claims as a form of payment. However, at the end of each month you will be provided with a receipt of payment which can then be submitted to your respective provider for reimbursement. It is up the insurance company as to whether they'll pay for services provided by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. It is your responsibility to know the type of mental health coverage you carry as well as the limits of that coverage. |
