| Practice Description: |
I work with adolescent and teenage boys and often use sports analogies and lessons to address issues such as self-esteem, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and school performance. I work with individual adults on numerous issues, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, and problem solving. My work with couples focuses on conflict resolution, effective communication, intimacy, parenting and other life transitions.
No matter how smart or educated you are, you cannot always see how to get past what stops you. I believe it takes tremendous courage to reach out for help. My more than ten years of experience as a life coach and therapist has me assist clients to not just look at what has happened in the past, but also examine what steps can be taken today to move them toward their goals. Using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model, I help clients examine the thoughts they believe to be true and consider other possible scenarios.
I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration and my formal coach training from The Coaches Training Institute and Dave Ellis Leadership, both International Coach Federation accredited programs. I was a faculty coach with Davis Ellis Leadership for five years and served as a board member in the Chicago chapter of the International Coach Federation.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
