| Practice Description: |
Do you wish you could manage your emotions and say what you really mean? Do you find yourself being impulsive and saying things you later regret? Do you wake up in the middle of the night wondering how you are going to go on one more day dealing with a difficult spouse, parent, child, or boss? Is marital infidelity or poor boundaries the cause of enormous stress in your life and relationships? Is your spouse depressed and difficult to live with?
I help clients whose lives and relationships are suffering because of severe emotion regulation challenges, anxiety, phobias, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder and depression. I help couples and families develop healthy problem solving strategies and improve personal boundaries, communication and intimacy.
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which is an evidence-based treatment program focused on helping clients reduce the painful results of impulsive decision-making and out of control emotions. DBT helps clients learn behaviors and skills to manage their emotions- skills they may have never developed because of a chaotic family life, or other emotional trauma. Through confidential, personalized individual sessions with me, and concrete homework assignments, clients develop in-the-moment skills to improve mindfulness, increase interpersonal effectiveness, manage emotional regulation, and enhance their distress tolerance.
Call me for a free consultation and take the first step in ending the struggle and chaos. I'm here to help.
