| Practice Description: |
I am a child and adult psychotherapist who works fluidly with clients based upon their diverse and changing needs. Many clients enter therapy feeling dislocated from their true selves, others, or their larger social environment. The therapy relationship is based upon trust, mutual respect, and openness. I am constantly aware of the need to strike a balance between accessing and using one's history in our work and moving forward. I work in a supportive, nurturing, interactive manner with my clients, and consider myself an active participant in their journey toward improved fulfillment and satisfaction.
My work with children often focuses on a combination of play therapy, artistic expression, and family meetings. I work with children and/or their families around issues of divorce/separation, adoption, postpartum depression/anxiety, school and separation anxiety, parenting, depression, social anxiety, and attention difficulties.

| Additional Comments: |
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I am a certified Yoga for the Special Child instructor and teach both individual and group yoga classes to children with and without special needs. I honor the (often lost) connection between mind and body awarene ss, incorporating relaxation and visualization techniques into my therapy practice when warranted.
I am fortunate to share a suite (Northbrook office) with a group of 9 clinicians (psychiatrists and psychologists) who have been practicing together for over 20 years. Although we function as independent practitioners, we refer to one another frequently based upon our own clinical specializations. Our psychiatrists are able to provide medication evaluation and management when needed. Other areas of specialty include (but are not limited to) men's issues, couple's therapy, adolescent treatment, eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, and spectrum disorders. |
