Often a person will seek counseling when personal attempts to solve a problem have not worked. Therapy is a safe and supportive environment in which to explore very personal concerns that may be difficult to share even with those closest to you. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I can provide a different kind of support than family and friends; I will listen objectively, not be judgemental, and help you to find your own solutions.
I work with clients on relationship issues, intimacy struggles, depression, anxiety and panic problems, ongoing difficulties with past traumatic experiences, those struggling with chemical addictions, and those addicted to unhealthy relationships. I am an EMDR trained therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families.
In addition, I am a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner and bring medical expertise into my psychotherapy practice. With my combined background I aim to promote both physical and emotional wellness. I believe that there is a connection between one’s physical symptoms and one’s emotional state and I work with clients to help them understand this mind/body connection.
