| Practice Description: |
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I believe first and foremost in the creative power and innate strength of individuals to find solutions for their problems within themselves. It is my belief that therapy can provide a pathway to find solutions for the life challenges you currently face.
I have been working in the field for over ten years counseling children, teens, and adults. I work with clients individually or in family therapy depending on individual preferences and treatment considerations. I’m passionate about counseling and feel it is a privilege as well as my true calling. I enjoy helping individuals and families focus on strengths and make it through difficult times.
I tailor treatment based on a collaborative assessment with you to address individual history and symptoms. The types of therapeutic interventions that I most utilize are:
Cognitive behavioral Family systems Evidence based Solution focused (a short-term therapeutic intervention) Play therapy for young children
I strive to develop goals with each client creating action plans and providing resources and referrals. Also, when indicated, I collaborate with physicians, parents, and other health-care providers.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of CAMFT (SCV-CAMFT). I earned my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. My diverse therapeutic background includes work with adults and children in private practice, the public school system, county mental health, a dual-diagnosis hospital program, and non-profit agencies. These experiences enable me to connect with a wide range of clients from varied backgrounds and give me a wealth of knowledge to draw upon in the therapy process.
