| Practice Description: |
Finding out who you are and how you operate in the world leads to better relationships and decisions about your future. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle to self-discovery. In a safe and nurturing environment, you can have the freedom to explore who you are and to repair what is keeping you stuck. Collaboration is key to a good relationship which is why I recognize the necessity to respect your pace and needs during this process. Once you have a better sense of self, you will be able to express and assert yourself in a more genuine way as well as have better judgment in terms of choices that life presents.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University in 1993. Since then I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, hospital and private practice. My experience ranges from working with families with young children at risk to working with seniors. I have been a Clinical Supervisor at Highland Park Hospital Eating Disorder Unit and at Insight Psychological Centers treating those with eating disorders, mood disorders and relationship issues. My specialties include eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, divorce adjustment and support in the pursuit of self-discovery and self-awareness.
