Are you looking for someone who can help you to relieve the pain, and learn better ways to manage your relationship? It's normal to have difficulties and differences in close, intimate relationships. The key is to find ways to deal with these difficulties and differences in ways in which everybody's needs get met enough so that there are "no held resentments" -- because it is the "held resentments" that really eat away at relationships. The other key task in creating a successful , ongoing couples relationship, is to build a "quality connection" -- one with an attitude of friendliness and warm, positive regard, along with mutual trust and respect...this is no easy task when there has been a build-up of mistrust, shame, hurts, fears or resentments. Fortunately, these wounds can often be healed or repaired, with the added benefit of achieving a fair amount of growth and wisdom in the process.
I'd like to work with you to:
a) address and relieve your most immediate problems,
b) set clear, realistic, measurable goals, to get you where you want to go,
c) teach you how to save yourself a ton of headache and heartache in the
future.
For example, Dr. John Gottman's research has found that the "Four Main Killers"of relationship are:
1. Defensiveness and escalating arguments
2. Criticisms,and putdowns
3. Held resentments
4. Avoidance and "stonewalling"
