| Practice Description: |
Welcome. I am a licensed psychologist in private practice, providing counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. I have trained and worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, schools, inpatient hospital units, and college counseling centers. I have many years of experience providing supportive, professional care to persons struggling with a variety of issues, including, but not limited to: anxiety; depression; stress management; spiritual/religious concerns; loss/grief; relationship difficulties; parenting; addiction; and trauma/abuse.
In addition to a doctorate in clinical psychology, I also hold a master's degree in theological studies, with an emphasis on the integration of psychotherapy and spirituality. Many of my clients find this openness to spirituality within the therapeutic context to be helpful.
Some of the ways that I offer help include the following: providing a supportive, empathic and consistent relationship in which change and growth can occur; helping clients to modify maladaptive patterns of thinking and acting; supporting clients in coping with losses of various kinds; teaching mindfulness techniques in order to mitigate stress, relieve anxiety and enhance well-being; and helping couples address relationship problems.
