| Practice Description: |
I welcome people who are over-stressed due to relationship issues and life transitions or suffering grief and loss. This creates feelings of helplessness, depression and anxiety, and often leads to personal and interpersonal road-blocks. With over 20 years experience, I have developed specialties in pre-marital and couples work, "boomers" issues such as empty nest and mid-life transitions, loss and grief, and trauma recovery. I'm Hospice trained. I employ methods that will help people develop personal and relational tools that can be used in everyday life. I love to encourage life-changing insight. My approach is often to "peel back the layers" of family history - finding patterns of thinking and behaving that aren't working. I coach stressed-out families - some with blended or foster children - and use non-directive play therapy. For people of faith I offer an integrative approach to counseling.
