If you're uncomfortable with therapists who only nod and ask questions, you'll like working with me. I engage in a dialogue with you, and use what happens between us to understand how you are in the world. We'll do some work understanding your history, but only to understand your present, uncovering patterns of relating that repeat themselves. Once we understand, together we can help you change. Ultimately, you'll develop more compassion for yourself and others, and a sense of ease.
I have a lot of patients in the arts but I've worked with all kinds of people. Over seventeen years, I've had the opportunity to help people with a wide range of problems, including, but not exclusively, depression, anxiety, extreme mood swings and substance abuse.
I understand the creative life, as well as the need for creativity in "ordinary" life, have skill and experience with substance abusers and their families. I can take several insurance plans, am insurance re-imbusable, charge according to income and have never turned anyone away because of money.
