Practice Description: Welcome! I hope to provide you with some information to give you a sense of the type of services that are provided through Inner Journey Psychological Services and the approach that I use. If you should have additional questions or want information, please feel free to contact me.

I have been licensed as a clinical psychologist for eight years. I am trained and experienced in conducting individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. I work with children, adolescents, adults and seniors. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings and have experience working with various mental health and substance abuse conditions, from severe mental health disorders and substance dependence to adjustment problems or relationship difficulties.

The aim of Inner Journey Psychological Services is to create an atmosphere that is conducive to growth, healing, and wellness. A cognitive interpersonal approach is provided, which means that treatment focuses on relationship dynamics and how the person thinks about a situation. Since thoughts are related to feelings and subsequent behavior, this at times is a focus of therapy. A here-and-now focus is used to help individuals explore things from the past and their current situation, in the hopes of improving functioning and relationships.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and comprehensive in nature; we initially obtain background information and then together devise a treatment plan identifying goals of therapy, and listing things in and outside of therapy that may be beneficial. With our high level of training and expertise, psychologists are able to more accurately get to the root of the problem and effectively treat it. Thereby, the individual's areas of concern are more efficiently addressed and one is better able to improve overall functioning and increase well-being in a timely manner.

In addition to doing therapy, I perform psychological evaluations, such as personality assessments and intelligence testing, and do other evaluations as well. I am available for consultations and do workshops and presentations.

My private practice is near the foothills and the university, in a beautiful and tranquil office complex, conveniently located off of River and 1st Avenue. Treatment is provided in a confidential and personal manner in a quaint and warm professional office setting.
