I work from the perspective that really "set" problems-- things that have been bothering you for a long time, or things that seem to reach into many areas of your life-- call for a collaborative effort between interested and motivated partners in the therapy endeavor. This is very different from the perspective that a therapist can tell someone what to do to fix his or her problems. This type of psychotherapy work is often challenging and, in my 14+ years experience, it is also often deeply rewarding.
