| Practice Description: |
I have been working with children, adolescents, and adults for over 20 years. No matter the age of the client I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative partnership. Each client brings his/her strengths, vulnerabilities, stuck and wounded places, as well as the desire and potential to grow, change, and thrive. As the therapist-partner I am committed to creating a sense of safety and bring a willingness to be fully present and actively engaged. The way I listen, think, and participate in each therapy draws from several therapeutic traditions. These include Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with its appreciation for the healing potential within the therapy relationship as well as its understanding that one's past can profoundly effect present experiences and relationships; Cognitive-Behavioral Theory and Therapy which recognizes that the way one thinks dramatically impacts how one feels and behaves; and Mindfulness Training which has taught me that awareness plus acceptance is a key facilitator of change. In addition to my psychotherapy practice I provide psychoeducational and psychological evaluations. Please feel free to call to ask any questions or address any concerns you may have.
