| Practice Description: |
I welcome you to my practice site.
If you are here at this site I make the assumption that... * You are secure enough to know that you deserve to feel better and to have good relationships. * You are willing to trust your "story" to a professional and collaborate in addressing the distressing situation. * You have the wisdom to know that you could benefit from assistance.
With a comfortable match up of therapist and client, both of us work towards understanding the challenges you face, getting some clarity about what can be changed, and learning how to take action. Getting comfortable involves feeling listened to and understood by me and developing trust that I will be knowlegeable about your subject and I will be supportive and non judgemental in this therapeutic relationship.
If you enter into Couples Therapy you have an opportunity to discuss the difficulties with an unbiased third person who is trained and well informed about how couples function. I know that both of you entered into this union with love and the very best of intentions. We will take time to understand how the relationship has gone from where you started out to where you find yourself now. Blame is not a part of this process. As we go through this exploration each of you will come to know yourself better, your partner better and how your couple headed down the road that led you into therapy. This knowledge can lead to major improvements in solving conflicts, and in getting back the love and closeness with which you began your courtship.
I am dedicated to helping you, or you and your partner, to deal with the issues which you bring to me. I have 30+ years of knowlege and practice in various styles and techniques and together we find the way that is most useful for you. It is my wish that you will feel validated and relieved and empowered. And last but importantly, I meet you with empathy, equality and warmth. I consider both of us travelers on the road of life and I have skills that can help you with this part of your journey. I know that you are much more than the situation you bring to me or the feelings you are currently having and I want us to enjoy this experience of growth and learning.
