| Practice Description: |
Having trouble connecting with your spouse? Family conflicts? Would you like to have your kids trust you enough to come to you with their deepest fears? You can! We've helped many individuals and families resolve conflict, feel closer, and really start talking and understanding each other. We understand kids. We empathize with parents. We assist couples enjoy each other, again. Kim and Matt feel strongly about the comfort level of their clients and try to make therapy convenient, having weekend hours available and in-office or in-home counseling. Some of our best sessions have been shooting hoops with kids and working “hands-on” with parents in their own home.
Matt enjoys working with kids and with adults. He has a special touch with teens and has helped many clients reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and with tics/tourettes. If your son or daughter is lacking a positive male role-model in their life, has had issues with males in the past, or if they are male, having a male therapist can be a beneficial way to get through to them.
Matt has been successful at helping parents feel like they have more control, helping kids and adults increase their self-esteem, and families enjoy spending time together more. He cares for his clients and has been told that he is easy to talk to. He does very well at building rapport with kids quickly and adults often report feeling better within the first couple sessions. He also keeps up to date on all of the new kid and teen lingo and groups.
Kim is the owner and founder of Family Perspectives, LLC. She especially enjoys working with couples and families. Kim has lots of experience helping people through depression, anxiety, grief, and has worked extensively with children. Also, being a Christian counselor, she is able to work from a perspective that goes beyond traditional psychological techniques and goes to your soul. Most of her clients are not Christian and do not find her spiritual orientation to be a problem because of her honest, non-judgmental, and open-minded style.
Making the choice to begin counseling can be hard. It is important to feel comfortable with the person you choose. If you are ready to start feeling better about yourself and more connected with your family, we would feel honored to assist you.
