| Practice Description: |
You may be feeling the pain of isolation, dis-connected from your self, your partner, family, friends or co-workers, and maybe even ashamed for having such feelings. Perhaps you cope by distancing or hiding, by fighting with your partner or family members. Or maybe by using an activity such as surfing the Web, or a substance such as food or alcohol to distract yourself from your pain. You may just have a vague feeling of being lost or empty. Maybe you are suffering from terrible feelings of grief or loss or being haunted by unresolved memories and feelings from your past. Maybe it is guilt or anxiety that is following you around.
I have over 20 years of experience helping individuals and couples with just such problems. I offer a safe space to get to the bottom of what is troubling you, using my insight, empathy and, sometimes, humor. I am supportive, but not directive, respectful and engaged. I will meet you where you're at and we will work together to understand what is going on for you beneath the surface to heal and find new ways to cope and grow.
In working with couples, it is amazing to see them come in shut down, hurt, angry and then open up and regain connection.
