Practice Description: I specialize in helping people to navigate stressful life transitions and heal from difficult past experiences. At The Catalyst Center, every new client receives a FREE 30 minute initial consultations session because finding the right fit with a therapist is vital to your success in therapy.

My Specialties:
Interpersonal Relationships
Mood Problems - Including Bipolar Mood Disorder
LGBTQ Support
Couples
Postpartum Depression

My overall expertise in interpersonal relationships has lead me to develop several specific areas of focus - though I also welcome many clients into my practice who do not necessarily fit into one specific "category" or who may not at first be entirely sure of their focus - simply that something feels off and they want help finding answers and solutions. I believe there are many great reason to seek therapy, and welcome those who have a specific area of challenge they would like to address as well as those who are seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves and grow towards their fullest potential.

Interpersonal Relationships:
Interpersonal Relationships seem to be a theme that runs throughout nearly all of my work with individuals, couples, and families. We all seek connection with one another- and when our connections become strained many people benefit from help repairing them and understanding how they got out of balance. Seeking my expertise in helping improve interpersonal connections is often what brings someone to my office.

Mood Problems:
I excel in my work helping people to manage and make peace with mood issues. In many cases, the diagnosis of a mood disorder, such as Bipolar Mood Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder, can leave a person feeling confused and hopeless about how to move forward in his or her life. My clients who are working to manage their mood issues often tell me that my ability to help them feel safe and accepted is a powerful part of their healing process.

Medication can be an important part of managing mood issues, but for many people its not enough. I work with my clients to help them move beyond just symptom management and into sustained personal growth. Research shows that the combination of medication and psychotherapy is even more effective than either alone.

I am passionate about helping people to better understand their unique mood patterns as we work to manage them together. I work with my clients to find ways to integrate their mood issues into a positive sense of self-worth. Many of my clients find hope for the future as they learn to better cope with their mood problems by attending to their internal rhythms and accepting themselves as they are.

LGBTQ Support:
I am deeply dedicated to supporting members of the LGBTQ communities and their families in an identity-affirming manner. I am passionate about my work with same sex couples/parents, individuals seeking clarity about sexual orientation and gender identity, and parents adjusting to a child's sexual or gender identity.

Couples
I am passionate about my work with couples. I often work with couples who are looking for ways to heal their relationships after infidelity or other challenges. I excel in my work with blended or step-families, and non-traditional couples of all types. My work with couples often includes exploration of individual dynamics and how each individual's patterns in life affect the relationship.

Postpartum Depression/ Transitioning into New Parenthood
My work with women and couples dealing with the challenges of postpartum depression and the transition to new parenthood is one of my primary clinical areas. I excel at helping women heal from postpartum depression or baby blues, bond with their infants, and adjust to their changing identity and relationships. Couples also often benefit from my guidance and support as they strive to reconnect after the birth of a child.
