Practice Description: Effective therapy for anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, childhood abuse, depression, relationship issues and those coping with the effects of growing up in an alcoholic-dysfunctional family. I help individuals & couples - LGBT and straight. Couples Counseling can help with communication, conflict, trust & intimacy issues. I support you in remembering and connecting to your strengths and in bringing movement and healing to those places where you feel stuck.

Do you:

* experience anxiety in social interactions
* take care of others needs and struggle with getting care for yourself
* suffer from anxiety or post traumatic stress (ie. nightmares, flashbacks, startle easily...)
* criticize yourself harshly and at times are highly critical of those you care about the most
* never feel "good enough" or feel "something's wrong with me"
* have difficulty expressing your feelings or needs (or knowing specifically what you do need)
* find it difficult to relax, have perfectionist tendencies, are a "super achiever"

If you do experience any of the above you are not alone. I help you find relief and heal what is blocking you from living the life you want.

In relationships do you experience:

* communication problems
* feel like you lose yourself
* are highly independent and have difficulty letting someone else in
* difficulty trusting your partner or friends
* want a deeper level of closeness
* conflict over the financial or sexual part of your relationship
* struggle in identifying and expressing your wants and needs (or when you
do express them they may at times come out in a way that you don't feel good about later.)

Many couples encounter these issues. I work to support you both in ...

* reducing high levels of conflict - learn tools to help move through conflict
* repairing past hurts
* improving communication, negotiating daily living
* deepening intimacy and connection
* reconnect to joy and ease

My therapy approach is holistic and includes mindfulness, somatic, cognitive and relational aspects. Together we see what works for you given your unique situation. I believe that compassion, sensitivity and non-judgment are essential to any healing process and strive to bring those values into my work with you.

I also offer EMDR therapy. It is a specific method of psychotherapy that can be helpful for some individuals in healing trauma, anxiety, panic attacks as well as other issues.

Please visit my website for more detailed information or give me a call and I'd be glad to answer any questions you have or set up an appointment.
