| Practice Description: |
Could you help your child succeed in school and life if you only knew what was wrong? If your child is caught in a whirlwind of failing grades, erratic emotions and difficult behaviors, you may need more than just a therapist. You need a guide with a road map! I specialize in giving families the answers they need to put their children back on track. Through in depth assessment, consultation with parents and schools, and down to earth treatment strategies, I can help you build a plan to help your child advance and grow into a happy and successful adult.
Children struggle for many reasons. Some learn differently than schools are prepared to teach. Others struggle to manage strong emotions or read social cues fast enough to chose appropriate behaviors. Psychological assessment pinpoints the problem so you can start effective solutions now, without expensive trial and error. Understanding brings success!
After the assessment is complete (or when parents already know the nature of the problem) I continue to work with you, providing child therapy and skill training, parenting plans, consultation with schools, and referrals to other community resources. Together we can learn what is blocking your child's progress and get them back on track.
