| Practice Description: |
My mission is "To teach, support, and inspire growth in relationships". Whether you are looking for support to overcome, depression, anxiety, relationship/couples issues, reunification, personal growth, or behavioral problems with children/adolescents we will focus together in enhancing your strengths to reach your goals. In addition, together we will assess the best approach to treatment that might be individual, couples, or family therapy.
One of my specialties is treating children and parents when parenting becomes an overwhelming task, or when there are reunification issues, or when parents feel unable to manage behavioral problems. I will work with you or any caretaker on learning specific skills to provide a more nurturing and improved relationship between you or any caretaker and your child, and to learn strategies to improve compliance by learning elements of effective discipline and child management. Parents can expect from PCIT: 1. A better behaved child. 2. More self-confidence as a parent in managing your child's difficult behavior. 3. A more nurturing and improved relationship between you and your child.
Another specialty is helping couples in distress reprocess their emotional responses so that they can interact with new ways. The focus in marital therapy will be on positive use of emotion.
