| Practice Description: |
I won't just sit in your therapy and nod. I will be an active participant in a nurturing no nonsense therapy approach. My training comes from a cognitive behavioral orientation which means that I'll work with you to identify, explore, and work through your thoughts which have a direct impact on your feelings and behaviors. I will also tailor your therapy based on your needs and wants. I enjoy supporting clients to find their true, core selves, not what has become familiar and doesn't work in your life now. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families and specialize in working with addictions (drug, alcohol, sex, gambling, spending, work, eating). I have previously worked at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA) I also work with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, inner child healing, codependency, corporate counseling, divorce, blended families, and stress during these challenging economic times. If your life and relationships aren't working as well as you'd like them to, I am here to help you on your journey. Someone recently asked me what I hoped for my clients. I said my hope was to give them hope and workable strategies that can last a lifetime. Therapy is an idea whose time has come and only you know if it is your time to explore your life and relationships more deeply. Find out how to be truly okay in the moment, even during the most challenging of moments. I am here to help you to get back to the land of living a happier and more productive life. Please call me at 760-774-0047. I look forward to speaking with you. Remember, you don't have to go through this challenging time alone. Dr. Amy

| Additional Comments: |
Call me if you want an active therapist who will participate in your therapeutic experience and tell it like it is, blending your therapy experience with warmth, a sense of safety, and compassion. My therapeutic orientation is more active directive, meaning I won't just sit there and nod. I will be involved in your therapeutic journey with no nonsense, yet a very nurturing approach. I will be there to help, support, and guide during those tough and challenging times. I won't push, but will be there to gently guide when needed. Are you ready for self-awareness? More insight? Want to get back to the land of the living and living a more purposeful life? Take that first step and make that call. Live well! Dr. Amy |
