Therapy provides a second chance. I listen carefully and thoughtfully to you. This opens up new ways of approaching problems. "Putting two heads together" lightens the load. People can inadvertently "shoot themselves in the foot", thus keeping themselves from getting what they most want. Together we understand the issues you struggle with and why they are difficult for you. Doing this in a non-judgmental relationship helps.
Couples counseling helps with communication and intimacy. Being able to talk together about the feelings and interactions between you in a safe atmosphere leads to greater understanding and compassion for yourself and your partner. I work with individuals and couples.
My extensive training and experience bring a depth of understanding and effectiveness to helping you. I am trained as a psychoanalyst as well as a clinical social worker, therapist/counselor.
