| Practice Description: |
I was licensed to practice psychotherapy in 1975 and have been in continuous practice since then. I have a great passion for helping people improve their lives. This has prepared me to help you with your individual difficulties and with your relationship problems, requiring couples as well as family therapy. My primary training was at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and at Camarillo State Hospital.
I am a family man, having raised three children into adulthood — all of whom live in the Los Angeles area. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1958 and was elected student body president. I earned a J.D. degree in law in 1962 and practiced law from 1962 to 1967 with a small law firm that provided a wide range of legal experience.
From 1967 to 1971 I owned a film production company which produced television specials for prime time network television. I then worked as a corporate executive at Warner Brothers from 1971 to 73 (Business Affairs). And, of course, from 1975 to the present I have conducted a private practice in psychotherapy and a training center for which I train licensed professionals and graduate students.
I am not someone who just went to school to practice psychotherapy — I have experienced working with people's relationships as a father and husband, as an attorney, as the owner of my own business, as an executive for a major corporation — all of this life experience will be available to you as we work together.
I have directed a training center since 1978 where I train licensed professionals and graduate students in the science and art of psychotherapy. Over these years I have trained several hundred people, hopefully to be better therapists so as to better serve the public. All of this experience of mine will be available to you as we work together. Training others over the years has kept me fresh and up-to-date in the latest theories and techniques of psychotherapy all of which flows into my treatment of my patients.
My ultimate purpose is to help you achieve your goals and to attain happiness and success in your life. This gives me the greatest pleasure. I learned to work with a wide variety of patients from children to the elderly and on issues from very severe to issues of how to enhance and improve the quality of life.
