| Practice Description: |
My approach to therapy is based on mindfulness, being present and gentle with your pain, your problems, and yourself. Mindfulness-based therapy is practical, evidence-based, and it works. As a mindfulness-based therapist, I teach skills that empower you to effectively relate to pain, problems, and the people you love with kindness, strength, compassion, clarity, and self-confidence. These qualities are part of our natural wellness, which mindfulness helps us rediscover and cultivate. You don't have to be stuck, overwhelmed, or feel disconnected from your life. You can make positive changes, grow, learn, and thrive. Therapy can help.
My approach to therapy is informed by mindfulness, behavioral therapies including ACT and MBCT, and Buddhist psychology. I offer a warm and safe relationship, good old fashioned listening, and skills to increase effective communication, managing and learning from emotions, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and connecting with and living your values.
I specialize in working with people who suffer from chronic illness, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, bipolar disorder, trauma, pain, grief and loss, relationship problems, and issues related to career, creativity, and spirituality. I see adults, couples, adolescents, and also focus on therapy and consultation for health care professionals.
