| Practice Description: |
I am currently not taking on new clients until January 2010
I am a licensed psychologist practicing in Irvine, CA. Oftentimes, people wait until their emotional distress is quite high before seeking help. That's when you want results that you can start to see and to feel a sense of hopefulness again. My clients are given the tools and coping skills needed to reduce the discomfort that psychological problems or relationship issues create. Men, women and children in large numbers are struggling with anxiety, depression and feelings of being overwhelmed by our technologically-challenging society. We have the opportunity to look at how your past may be affecting how you handle situations in the present. I will teach you psychological coping skills and relaxation techniques that, will not only help to decrease your current distress, but will empower you to deal effectively with future problems and to begin to enjoy life. I utilize psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral styles of therapy as my main focus. I will also utilze an ecletic form of therapy depending on the individual client's needs.
I also work with children from age 4-17. Children too, feel the pressure placed on them by our "No Child Left Behind" model. Teaching children to effectively deal with life's stressors is one of the most valuable gifts you can give to them. Help your child become the self-assured, self-confident young person they deserve to be.
I have training and experience in private practice, child/family service agencies, psychiatric hospital and partial hospitalization programs and disaster services settings. What is stopping you from enjoying life? Make a commitment to yourself to begin feeling better.
