We are different at Albuquerque Play Therapy because our approach does not focus on the past, but instead, focuses on the present and future. Our therapeutic approach is Solution-Focused, brief, and goal oriented. We focus on people's strengths and possibilities instead of their deficits, weaknesses, and limitations.
We specialize in bringing YOU, the child's most important person(s) into the therapeutic process. We partner with the family to develop strategies and enhanced communication that will create long lasting changes for your child and family.
Albuquerque Play Therapy provides a creative, safe, confidential, and caring environment for you and your child. We use clay, paint, drawing, games, and Sand Tray therapies to facilitate healing.
Play is a child's natural way to explore their world. Play provides a way that even non-verbal children can "tell" their stories to a trained observer and listener. It is a non-threatening way to express inner fears, conflicts and questions.
We specialize in Sand Tray Therapy and bring over 15 years worth of experience in working with children ages 3-13. Sand Tray therapy is an expressive and dynamic play process that can be used with children, adolescents, adults, families and groups to resolve conflicts, answer questions and build stronger communication in families. Sand Tray translates personal experience into a concrete, three-dimensional form to resolve the past, cope with the present, and prepare for the future.
