| Practice Description: |
I consider it an honor to be allowed entry into someone's life as a therapist. People usually seek such help when some suffering or limitation has opened them up enough to risk asking a perfect stranger for guidance. My hope is to provide a safe and respectful place for them to begin to look at the various strands of their lives and stories. Then, as we unravel past and present contributions to the fabric of their lives, we can examine these threads and, with new understanding, weave them back together into a new tapestry which includes fresh possibilities.
In General, I try to meet clients where they are and with them, determine what would be helpful. At time this could be very practical, such as providing information or training that could relieve symptoms. Other times it could be creative such as working with symbols from dreams or fantasies.
My down to earth style tends to help create a comfortable atmosphere for clients to be themselves. A sense of humor about life also sometimes helps.
