Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
I am a licensed bilingual/bicultural clinical psychologist in Miami, Florida. I provide therapeutic services to adults, couples, young adults, families and children, as well as, developmental, psychological and pre-surgical bariatric assessments in both English and Spanish.
I offer a warm, motivating, and insightful integrative approach when working with my patients. I believe early experiences with our parental figures will imprint the way we view and relate with others. Therefore, it is important to focus on early experiences, relationship patterns, and slowly progress to the "here and now." With that said, I draw from a variety of psychological perspectives including psychodynamic, Intersubjective theory, cognitive behavioral, attachment and schema based approaches to help you understand the presenting problem and to work on your established treatment goals.
Identifying the need to participate in therapy can cause a certain level of distress or anxiety. Not everyone reacts or presents the same way. Therefore, it is important to understand that this is an individualized commitment that will give you YOUR own results.
I truly understand the mixed emotions involved when making personal changes. The pain and agony engrained and cyclical maladaptive thoughts and patterns become somewhat comfortable for us no matter the consequence. However, I view myself as an empathic, non-judgmental, understanding, motivating and personable facilitator to assist you in reaching your individual goals. I make every possible attempt to make you feel as if you are not alone throughout this process. Together we will actively work on new ways to view and understand dimensions of the self within complex roles (mother, father, spouse, lover, parent, child, employee, etc.)
