| Practice Description: |
The decision to start psychotherapy is significant. It often means that you are suffering in some way, you’ve realized that what you’re doing is no longer working, and you are therefore seeking change in your life.
My approach is collaborative, gentle, yet challenging. Often, our thoughts, assumptions and patterns keep us stuck and unable to get in touch with our full selves. I believe change occurs through the expression of emotions, addressing how the past impacts your current experiences, and exploring interpersonal relationships, including the relationship between the patient and therapist.
Through this relationship, insight is often gained into other relationships and recurring patterns that may be contributing to current life issues. As a result of our work together, you will be able to live a more genuine life with a greater sense of freedom and possibility through insight and understanding of your internal experiences.
I have specialized training in working with older adults and medically ill patients. The experience of illness is one that has an enormous psychological component, which often does not get addressed. My patients find that having a space to make sense of their psychological experience is invaluable in coping with their illness.

| Insurance and Billing Instructions: |
I am currently an in-network provider for Blue Shield. If you have a PPO or another type of insurance that allows you to select an out-of-network provider, you may be able to get reimbursement from your insurance carrier. It is a good idea to check with your carrier to verify coverage for out-of-network providers and for rates of reimbursement. If you decide to use your insurance, I’m happy to provide you with a monthly statement of services to submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. |
