| Practice Description: |
ARE YOU FEELING THAT SOMETHING IS MISSING IN YOUR LIFE OR THAT THINGS AREN'T AS THEY SHOULD BE?
I have often claimed that we are not trying to change the client, or anyone else for that matter, but our goal in therapy is to address the unpleasant and hurtful experiences that brought you to therapy. Together, we will explore those issues, such as anxiety or depression, as a symptom of a deeper underlying problem. In our work together, we will utilize various theoretical approaches, however my primary theoretical orientation is depth psychology.
Depth psychology is a creative and curious approach that utilizes metaphor found in art, literature, poetry and myth, in order to articulate the images that represent our past, present and the anticipation of future events. We will explore the images that come to us through our dreams, fantasies, synchronicities and relationships.
Ultimately no image is out of bounds in depth psychology. Facts are far less important when compared to how the perceptions of events live within us. We will honor those perceptions as an intrinsic part of you.
I offer counseling for individuals, couples and families
