I am a caring, empathetic therapist who is practical and problem solving oriented. I have worked in the field for over 28 years and have had a broad range of training and experience. I am usually able to tailor the therapy experience to the needs of each client, helping them understand why they are having the problems that have brought them to therapy and what they can do to solve the problems.
I specialize in working with anxiety, panic, phobias, depression, OCD, addictions, grief and loss, Trauma and PTSD, overeating and bulimia, psychological aspects of chronic illnesses, and relationship issues, including unresolved family issues .
We can do both Traditional Talking Psychotherapy and Somatic Psychotherapy, if the client is interested in it, which includes Imagery, Mindfulness Meditation, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing, which focuses on releasing blocked or anxious body energy, Somatic Psychotherapy directly affects the unconscious nervous system and can go beyond what talking Psychotherapy is able to accomplish.
