Argie Spuck, LCSW, specializes in the treatment of trauma and abuse, adult children of alcoholics, couples, sex addicts, spouses of sex-addicts and other addicts, love addiction, codependency, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and other of life’s difficult issues.
Argie has been trained in Post Induction Therapy (“PIT”) by Pia Mellody at the Meadows in Arizona. This is a model which focuses on the origins of adult dysfunctional behaviors by exploring early childhood issues that have fueled various addictions, codependency, depression and painful relationships. She utilizes Pia’s Post Induction Therapy model for healing childhood and relational trauma in her work with individuals, couples and groups.
She has also been trained in Imago Relationship Counseling co-created by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. to help couples move out of ”power struggle” to a more conscious, intimate, committed relationship. This therapy facilitates growth in one partner and healing in the other. A connection is created in the adult intimate partnership that heals. A specific dialogue process is used and becomes the major tool for the primary therapeutic experience. This method removes the healing process from the therapist-client relationship and relocates it to the partner-partner relationship. The therapist is only the facilitator of the dialogue process and is not the source of healing. The couples heal themselves.
Argie also conducts psycho-educational groups for Spouses/Partners of Sex Addicts; and Codependent Women.
