| Services: |
Psychotherapy/Counseling Family tree consultation
|
| Practice Description: |
Seeking help is the first start to improving your life and such a courageous act! Talking to someone about our every day problems and exploring past wounds can be difficult for many of us. Just know that you are not alone! One of the many benefits of therapy is that what you speak about is confidential, hence, what you say in the room, stays in the room! I offer many types of therapy based on your individual needs. Services that I offer include individual therapy, children therapy, family therapy, couple therapy and group therapy. For many, therapy is a new unknown experience. Each session is conducted at your pace and your own growth. Sessions can consist of combinations of the types of therapy that meet you and/or your family needs. I provide my clients with a safe place in which they can share their thoughts and feelings as well as explore any past hurts that stem from their family of origin without any criticism and judgment. A family tree is included in the service and will assist in guiding the client with a visual to see any patterns that are repeating itself and create awareness of triggers from past wounds that have been transmitted for 3 to 4 generations.
I offer a sliding scale fee that is based on your income for psychotherapy services involving individual, couple, family and children therapy. Phone consultation is free. I have experience with diverse backgrounds and issues to meet your needs. I look forward in working with you, at your pace towards your own goals.

| Additional Comments: |
I believe that the start of change is through self-awareness. Being aware of triggers from past wounds will assist clients at a conscious level explore an understanding and awareness of what is occurring at their subconscious level. It can be helpful for clients to see their challenges from the emotional patterns (how depression and anxiety is dealt with, how conflict is resolved, how close or distant relationships are, etc.) in their family. A family map/”family tree” is included in the service and will assist in guiding the client with a visual representation to see any patterns that are repeating itself and create awareness of triggers from past wounds that have been transmitted for 3 to 4 generations.
Your positive and negative thoughts that stem from childhood have some control on your perceptions and your behavior, thus, can at times become self-defeating towards yourself and influential towards your relationships with others. My role as a therapist is to guide the client into having richer relationships with his/herself and others in a safe, confidential, non-critical and non-judgmental environment.
I work from different modalities depending on which are beneficial to the client and the client’s preference. These modalities and interventions include, but not limited to: Bowen Family System’s Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Theory, Structural Theory, Non-Theory based, Christian Counseling, Non-religious based, etc.
I have experience working with diverse populations/cultures and issues. My university and professional work experience emphasizes psychotherapy skills in individual, couple, family, group and play therapy with exposure to children, adolescents, and adults of diverse backgrounds, including, but not limited to: domestic violence offenders, sex offenders, victims of incest in a residential setting and group setting, severely emotionally disturbed children, culture, religion, chemical dependency, divorce/separation issues on children, gay/straight/alliance support groups, issues with self-esteem, grief and loss, anger management, parenting skills, social skills, etc.
