| Practice Description: |
Do you battle with feeling anxious, panicky, sad, trapped, or helpless? Is it hard to enjoy things that you used to do? Anxiety and depression can affect every aspect of your life - your relationships and family life, your work or schooling, even your self-care and physical well-being.
There are things in life you can't control...anxiety and depression are not among them.
Since 1990 I have helped hundreds of people find greater understanding of their frightening or demoralizing feelings and learn the skills they need to become confident, engaged, and even passionate about life.
My specialty is cognitive therapy, a common-sense approach which research has shown to be one of the most powerful treatments available for defeating anxiety and depression. I developed my expertise over 12 years as a therapist, supervisor, and trainer at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research.
Most people wait too long to get help. Ask yourself: What will it cost me...
If I continue to feel stressed and irritable? If I continue to waste time worrying, avoiding, procrastinating, isolating, or being a slave to a compulsion? If I continue to struggle in my relationships? If I continue to let anxiety or depression get the best of me? Also, what will it cost my children and loved ones if I don't live up to my full potential?
If you are like most of my clients, you will find that with a little help you can begin right away to make sense of your circumstances and take charge of your life and your emotions. Call me to get started. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to make it easy for you to take that first step, and start making positive changes in your life.
My practice is located in Monterey with convenient access from the surrounding communities of Pacific Grove, Seaside, Marina, Carmel, and Salinas.

| Insurance and Billing Instructions: |
If you chose to use your insurance benefit, and I am a provider with this company, I will work with your plan. If I am not a provider for this company, the company may still reimburse you a portion of my fee as an out-of-network provider. I will provide you with statements which you can submit for reimbursement. It is important to understand your mental health benefits, how they are managed, and most importantly whether or not I am a provider with your plan. If you have questions, you should call your insurance customer service department. Pre-authorization of treatment is sometimes required before services will be reimbursed as well as periodic treatment plans in order for the company to determine whether or not there is a need for ongoing therapy. If your benefits are used up or ongoing therapy is denied, and you wish to continue therapy, we will discuss options for continuing your treatment. You always have the option to pay for therapy out of pocket and avoid the involvement of your insurance plan. |
