| Practice Description: |
As a licensed psychotherapist who works with adults, I have found that people come into therapy at times of crisis or when typical ways of behaving no longer work. Their distress may come in the form of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma or other painful life experiences. I provide a safe and supportive environment where difficult emotions can be expressed, self-defeating patterns of relating can be explored and false beliefs about the self can be challenged.
I am a sensitive and compassionate clinician whose work is grounded in psychodynamic theory. I am a graduate of the Hudson Valley Institute of Psychodrama, trained in trauma healing through Somatic Experiencing and a registered and board certified art therapist. I draw on years of training and experience with body centered psychotherapies, cognitive/behavioral therapy, Jungian sand tray work and the expressive arts. Before going into private practice I worked for Ulster County Mental Health where I ran groups and provided individual counseling for adolescents and adults. I have taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses related to the expressive arts and psychological health and self-esteem. I am currently adjunct faculty at SUNY New Paltz where I teach Expressive Arts for Education and Human Services.
While it is true that life can be difficult, it is also true that there is a restorative aspect of our nature. Using a variety of approaches, I help individuals to access their innate wisdom so they might gain the inner resources to live fuller, more satisfying lives.

| Driving Directions: |
From Main Street New Paltz, take 299 West. Cross Walkill Bridge just outside of town and take the first right after the bridge. Take the second left. The first left is Mountain Rest Road. The second is where you turn onto Kleinekill Road. Go one block up a slight hill and make your first right onto High Ridge Road. Drive to the end of the road. At the dead end you will see two driveways where you cannot see the houses from the road. Take the shale driveway to the left. Park in one of the parking areas and take the shale path around the side of the house, under the deck. There you will see the door to the waiting room. Just ring the bell and enter.
