| Practice Description: |
** Current daytime appointment availability (as of 9/24/09) **
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and as such work with my patients to develop treatment plans and approaches best suited to their individual needs. For some this involves long-term weekly therapy to address more pervasive or long-standing conflicts, others opt for brief therapy to address more specific punctuated concerns. I have training and experience with the treatment of a broad range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, identity and relationship concerns, suicidal thoughts and behaviors and self injury (e.g. cutting).
My educational background includes an M.Ed. from Harvard University and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Suffolk University. I have had formal clinical training with diverse populations including adults and the elderly at a veterans administration, children and adolescents in inpatient, partial hospitalization and school settings, young adults in a college counseling center and day treatment program, and all ages in a community mental health setting. My most recent training involved specialized instruction in the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the treatment of self-injury and Borderline Personality Disorder.
