| Practice Description: |
As a therapist, I walk along clients' journey in their self discovery, or through their process of, a complaint or issue client decided to resolve. My interest is the client's concern in dealing with how to bring changes, balance, harmony, coherence and consistence to the client and family's life. I believe it is equally important to encourage clients to search, within themselves, how to solve that problem that motivated them to look for our support. My practice as a therapist is not a job, it's my passion - understanding others behaviors and story listening was my great interest since I was an adolescent. Parenting and the anxiety produced is related to our ability to cope or not to cope with life obstacles. I believe that most issues come from the manner in which we were raised/parented, and our parent and family's role model to face stress or adversity. As children, our parent's environment and life's dynamic are absorbed; and, usually stays in our mind and later on comes back to us when faced with similar issues or life's stumbling blocks.
Therefore it's good to look back, to spring forward into a future we can build in our own terms. We don't choose in what family to be born, and as an adult, we can choose how to re-arrange our mind, body, spirit and ways to face difficulties. Therapy will provide a hand to guide into that journey, or into that issue, emotional / mental state-anxiety, low mood, little energy, sadness, not interested in socializing, bad temper, irritability , or any problem the client is interested in addressing.
E. Fromm once wrote that it is hard to look yourself in a mirror. The role of the therapist is to engage and facilitate the process toward being able to see our face in a mirror and feel satisfied with our own image. Today, we can do this process with innovative techniques such as solution focus and Brief Therapy, developmental, cognitive/behavioral, narrative / Reflecting/ Modifying, etc. We are on an era with great technological and scientific development, particularly in Neuro-Science that has validated tools from the East: Yoga, Meditation, Deep Relaxation, visual Imagery, etc. That means that Therapy from the West is also meeting the East and their thousand years of knowledge and healing practice.
In my office clients will find a welcoming, comfortable, caring, and soothing ambiance, as well as an accepting, tolerant, attentive therapist. Many of my clients have reported that the process of their journey or problem solving was supportive, because of the trusting, warm and dynamic interventions and reflective questioning, as well as the suggested task to put in practice to bring change, transformation to their personal situation.
